| Indigo Hills produces purebred/registered Katahdin Hair Sheep. After researching different breeds of sheep, we came to the easy conclusion that the Katahdin was the right breed for our farm and our needs. Katahdin Sheep are a hair sheep and unlike their woolly counterparts do not require shearing, but rather shed. They are a hardy breed that is highly resistant to health issues that can plaque other breeds/types. They are prolific mothers, who lamb "out of season", and produce oodles of milk. They produce meat that is milder, thus tastier than that of many wool breeds. Our sheep are Naturally reared on a diet consisting of grass (which has never been chemically treated) & supplemental hay. They are hormone, chemical and antibiotic free. We have lamb available throughout the year that is processed locally by a USDA inspected processing plant... call (715-592-4670) or email us for more information. We are members of the Wisconsin Sheep Breeders Cooperative... And the Katahdin Hair Sheep Intenational.
